The current state of the law in Florida, and apparently Texas, is that when an officer believes they detect the odor of cannabis, that constitutes probable cause to search the person or immediate vicinity of a person and their vehicle, WITHOUT needing their permission or consent. While that seems to some logical, what happens when this simply goes too far? …And what if there truly was no cannabis?
